ERA in ISO International Standard Formulation

Recently, ERA participated in the formulation of the ISO9854-1:2023 standard, which has now been officially released. This marks ERA's first involvement in developing an international standard.

The new standard is titled "Fluid Transport Thermoplastic Plastic Piping Systems - Part 1: General Test Method for Unsupported Beam Impact Performance." It specifies the method for determining the impact performance of thermoplastic plastic pipes used for fluid transport, including the testing equipment, sample requirements, state adjustments, and result evaluations for conducting impact tests on both notched and unnotched specimens.

Sun Huali, director of the Technology Center at ERA, stated, "This standard provides a testing method and means for UPVC, PE, PE-X, PP-R, PB, and other plastic pipes to withstand external impact, and it holds significant importance for evaluating the impact resistance performance of plastic pipes in production and application worldwide. Transitioning from passively following international standards led by foreign companies to actively participating in their formulation has not only enhanced ERA's international reputation and influence but also granted it a certain level of industry leadership on the global stage."
