Cold weather has made the ice and snow economy increasingly “hot”. Projects like skiing and ice-themed worlds are frequently trending, sparking a consumer boom in the ice and snow sector.
Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the “Several Opinions on Stimulating the Vitality of the Ice and Snow Economy through the High-Quality Development of Ice and Snow Sports,” outlining two goals: By 2027, the facilities for ice and snow sports will be significantly improved, service levels will be enhanced, and the total scale of the ice and snow economy will reach 1.2 trillion yuan; by 2030, the total scale of the ice and snow economy will reach 1.5 trillion yuan.
Under the policy guidance to strengthen the construction of ice and snow facilities, the development of ice and snow venues has become an important task in stimulating the vitality of the ice and snow economy. Whether it’s the Zhangjiakou Chongli Olympic Park, which has snow year-round in northern China, or the Huafa Ice and Snow World in the south, which is under rapid development, ERA continues to support the prosperity of China’s ice and snow industry, contributing to the realization of the dream of becoming a strong ice and snow nation.
Zhangjiakou Chongli Olympic Park
Ice and snow tourism has experienced explosive growth in recent years. As the host of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Chongli’s winter ice and snow activities have become incredibly popular, with multiple high-quality snow events held both domestically and internationally, becoming a new driving force in the development of the ice and snow economy.
Recently, the Ruyi Ski Resort began its operations, and the Zhangjiakou Chongli Olympic Park has upgraded from the “Three Arenas and One Village” model, consisting of the National Ski Jumping Center “Snow Ruyi”, the National Biathlon Center, the National Cross-Country Skiing Center, and the Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village, to the “Four Arenas and One Village”, adding a new dimension to the Olympic ski resorts in Zhangjiakou.
Starting from the Zhangjiakou water supply plant, ERA pipes carry water all the way, supported by the HDPE water supply series of strong pipelines, ensuring the continuous supply of life’s most essential resource to the passionate sports venues covered in snow. The ERA HDPE water pipes are buried underground, with excellent flexibility and environmental adaptability. Even in low temperatures, their service life can exceed 50 years, ensuring smooth water flow to the venues with their outstanding water transmission stability.
Huafa Ice and Snow World
In the steel jungle of a bustling city, an ice and snow kingdom is quietly rising—Huafa Ice and Snow World. Covering approximately 430,000 square meters, this grand ice and snow-themed project has a total investment exceeding 29.6 billion yuan and has been listed as a major project in Shenzhen for four consecutive years.
The indoor snow field in the venue has a construction area of around 100,000 square meters, featuring 5 snow slopes that meet professional competition standards. The maximum height difference is 83 meters, and the longest single slope reaches 450 meters. Once completed, it will become the largest indoor snow world in China, with the greatest height difference, most professional slopes, and longest single slopes.
In southern ice and snow venues, the challenges are not just about the cold, but also the high temperatures and intense sunlight. ERA provides comprehensive support for the venue’s daily operations, offering a series of high-quality solutions for water supply, drainage, and electrical protection. Various types of pipes, including PPR water supply series, PVC-U drainage series, and PVC-U electrical series, are used to ensure the venue runs efficiently and safely under extreme weather conditions, creating the ideal environment for ice and snow sports and entertainment.
The Huafa Ice and Snow World project is set to open in 2025. Once completed, it will become another world-class landmark commercial district in Shenzhen, making the city an important destination for ice and snow tourism in southern China.
As one of the participants in the construction of ice and snow economy venues, ERA has always adhered to excellence in quality, continuously innovating, upgrading services, and igniting the ice and snow economy, breathing new life into urban cultural tourism.
