ZHEJIANG, June 20, 2024 — ERA export company( ERA Piping Zhejiang CO ltd) has been operating at full capacity since the beginning of the year, continuously processing orders from the Spring Festival through to the Dragon Boat Festival. The factory has been functioning 24 hours a day to meet the surge in demand.
Factory Manager stated, “We didn't have any holiday breaks for May Day and Qingming Festival this year. Our workers are putting in overtime almost every day. This is an unfinished job."
Workers are operating in three shifts of eight hours each to keep the machines running non-stop. Production plans are already scheduled through August, with pipes being shipped to Somalia, reflecting the robust demand from the African market.
Export Manager Huang Huan shared, “Since the beginning of the year, our company has dispatched multiple sales teams to international exhibitions to conduct research and secure the latest customer orders. Currently, we are exporting to Mexico, and our Mexican quality inspector has been busy ensuring product quality, expressing satisfaction with our first collaboration: 'I know it's big here. Their product quality is very good.'"
From January to May, ERA Piping Zhejiang’s export volume reached 240 million yuan, marking a 33% increase compared to the same period last year. The company has experienced significant growth in Europe and Oceania, with a 36% increase in those markets.
The surge in orders has prompted the company’s R&D team to constantly innovate, enhancing the cost-effectiveness of CPVC pipes and fittings. “We are continuously researching and optimizing our formula. Compared to previous years, our price per ton has dropped by more than ¥1,000. This has resulted in a three to four-fold increase in our current sales volume,” noted the Export Sales Manager.
The R&D center has been instrumental in obtaining more than 60 international certificates, with the NSF certificate being particularly noteworthy. “The US market is relatively large and primarily focused on product hygiene, especially concerning lead toxicity. The NSF certificate highlights our commitment to meeting these high standards,” said the R&D Manager.
With overseas orders growing rapidly, ERA Piping Zhejiang is confident in expanding its production capabilities. Last April, the company began constructing a smart factory, which has now been completed. The fully automated production line is expected to be operational by the end of the year, significantly reducing the need for manual labor.
“In the past, it required eight people to complete this process. Now, with a smart factory, only a maintenance worker is needed. This investment is expected to pay off in about a year,” the Factory Manager added.
ERA Piping Zhejiang continues to adapt and evolve, shifting from producing stock items to tailoring products based on international client needs, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the global market.
