Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center is located in Hangzhou on the south bank of the Qiantang River. It has a main stadium, a gymnasium (natatorium), Ball Sports Center and a tennis court. The primary stadium is formed like a lotus, with 28 big petals and 27 little petals, and has a lively and graceful shape. The architectural form is influenced by Hangzhou's silk texture and textile system. The architectural form is inspired by the Qiantang River's movements. It contains basic floral chain units, similar to a magnificent lotus blooming on the Qiantang River's bank.
