"Original Aspiration in Every Inch, Exemplary Craftsmanship in Close Proximity"
- A tribute to Wu Qinghe, winner of the Labour Day in Chongqing
Tang Qi from ERA subsidiary in Chongqing
In ERA subsidiary of Chongqing, there is a workshop director who has never "complied" with the company's attendance system. In his opinion, it is not responsible to going to work on time and leaving on time. He arrives at the workshop 40 minutes in advance every morning to check the night shift production and potential safety hazards. He will not leave until 7 PM, whether there is any work to be handled. His phone is always on 24/7. Very often, he leaves messages about guidance on various matters, including weekends and holidays. He is Wu Qinghe, the workshop director at the extrusion department in ERA subsidiary of Chongqing. Rooted in ERA for decades, he has always worked on the front line of production, leading his team in various technical improvements related to reducing labor intensity, enhancing product quality, and cost-saving. He has been recognized with the title of "Advanced Collective" by the company and provides continuous intellectual support for the establishment of the company's talent pool. He has also won the company's Technology Innovation Award, Annual Outstanding Employee, "Advanced Producer (Worker)," and was awarded the title of "2021 Yongchuan Artisan." On April 27, 2023, the Chongqing General Federation of Trade Unions and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau released the notice "On Commending the 2023 Chongqing May Day Labor Medal and Chongqing Model Workers," and Wu Qinghe was honored with the "2023 Chongqing May Day Labor Medal."
Wu Qinghe has always adhered to his original aspiration and maintained exemplary craftsmanship, shining brightly in the production line. Many people do not understand why he works so hard, but during a chat, they finally understood the reason. He said, "When I first joined the company as an ordinary crushing worker, the company didn't look down on me for lacking experience or education; instead, they cultivated me without hesitation, giving me time to learn, practice, and grow. After so many years, my grateful initial aspiration towards ERA has never faded. It supports me in bravely facing setbacks and challenges. In my heart, ERA has long become my home. When it comes to building one's own home, what else needs to be said?"
"Industries may not have a sunset, but enterprises may" is a phrase Wu Qinghe often mentions. He believes that some companies face problems with product quality and services, but in essence, it's due to the lack of awe and responsibility towards the brand and society by the management personnel. Based on this belief, he and his team have long been committed to the standardization of the production process, paying extreme attention to product quality, almost reaching a "demanding" level. During a routine inspection, he found a slight color difference in a batch of pipes ready for storage. He immediately reviewed the production process, traced it back to the source, and ultimately found that it was due to insufficient cleaning of the colorant in the equipment. After resolving the issue, he said, "Everyone must understand the saying that ‘a thousand miles of embankment can be destroyed by an ant hole.' Don't underestimate this slight color difference; it affects the customer's confidence in ERA brand. Some of you may think that reprocessing will lead to more cost, but please remember that cost control without quality assurance is meaningless; it will only backfire. Focusing on daily process control is the correct approach!"
At the company, Wu Qinghe's comprehensive technical skills and fearlessness in tackling tough challenges are widely praised. I remember when the Extrusion Department had just introduced the PVC drainage high-speed machine, it encountered a problem during the installation and commissioning phase where the cutting machine would not operate. The manufacturer could only send additional technicians to conduct repairs, but this would have resulted in a significant delay. It was the peak sales season in April, and waiting blindly would inevitably lead to a disconnection between production and sales. Finally, Wu Qinghe made a decision - he would handle it! It was easier said than done. Faced with new equipment, new illustration, and the intricate network of internal equipment wiring, he had to analyze it step by step. In the end, he identified a break in the circuit. With his attention shifting from the circuit diagram to the actual wiring, he meticulously compared them. An hour passed, two hours passed... With a loud shout, he found the point of failure - a broken red wire on a relay. After repairing it, the equipment started running normally again. As he casually wiped the sweat from his forehead, he smiled to everyone from the bottom of his heart!
